Drumming Together groups meet again

Drumming Together in Brecon

Drumming Together resumes at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon at a new time of 10.30 on Monday mornings. We now meet in the smaller and friendlier Meeting Room. New members are welcome to join us for this 8 week course aimed at older adults who are looking for something creative and social to get involved with. We also begin the autumn term at Hereford Courtyard this week.

I have been working hard to promote Beat It further afield, offering taster sessions and negotiating with potential partners and customers. In addition I have been writing bids and securing the next round of work, as it is a constant challenge to keep work and funds flowing. More exciting projects reaching into the West Midlands and Powys are in the pipeline for October, news of which I will share in due course. Meanwhile sessions continue with regular and new customers.

September sees Beat It working with Aspire Community Hub in Hereford once more. We will be providing a course of sessions for Aspire’s adult service users and look forward to sharing some new instruments and activities that we have accumulated since we were last at Aspire in 2016. We are also pleased to be beginning working with a new customer, the National Star College in Hereford, for young people with complex and multiple learning disabilities. We will be returning to Autism West Midlands’ Oakfield House and visiting West Eaton House in Leominster for more bell-ringing. Always looking ahead we will continue working with the University of Gloucestershire who are our evaluation partners to ensure we gain the maximum impact from our projects.
