Lynn's working day can involve anything from leading an amazing Carnival parade to sitting with an older person and enabling them to communicate through sharing simple sounds and eye contact. Five years ago she never dreamed that she would be creating her own opportunity to take music making to people who otherwise would have no access to it.
Now on a Masters Course in Architecture at St Martins, London, David has been playing percussion in various forms for longer than he can remember, first leading a samba band aged thirteen. As a student in Oxford David developed an interest in mixing and DJ-ing, complimenting his interest in percussion. His drumming highlight was playing for the Queen in Crickhowell as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
With a day job as a Housing Officer for local government, Mignon is a certified laughter leader and a keen community musician. There is probably not a form of drumming that she has not tried and enjoyed. Mig greatly enjoyed her recent her trip to Brazil where she was inspired to learn Caixa and delve deeper into Maracatu.
Retired from a varied work life, Linda brings wide experience, flexibility and an undimmed enthusiasm to her directorship. Linda is active in her local community working at an Eco Shop and leading workshops and raising awareness about textile recycling. Along with admin and graph-making, her work for Beat It Percussion includes providing encouragement and an objective eye as Lynn Kay’s long-term friend and colleague.
